How to Enable and Use a Cash Payment Discount
This article will walk you through how to activate and use the Cash Payment Discount feature in your SetSale account. Using this discount is a great way to encourage your customers to pay for their new system in full with cash, which can improve your business's cash flow.
Activating the Cash Payment Discount
The Cash Payment Discount is set up within your main company settings.
Navigate to your Settings in the SetSale dashboard.
Select the Pricing and Discounts section.
Locate the option for Cash Discount.
Enable the discount and enter the flat percentage you wish to offer your customers (e.g., enter
3for a 3% discount).
Once this feature is enabled, the specified discount percentage will automatically apply to any quote when the Cash payment option is selected by the customer.
Applying the Cash Discount on a Quote
The cash discount only appears and applies when the corresponding payment option is chosen.
Create or open a new quote for a customer.
Build your proposal with the desired equipment, add-ons, and pricing tiers.
When the customer reaches the payment selection step of the presentation, the discount will be applied automatically if they choose the cash payment option.
Important Notes
Payment-Specific: The cash discount is tied only to the cash payment option and will not appear if the customer chooses a financing plan.
Other Discounts: Other customizable discounts (e.g., veteran, first responder, or promotional rebates) can still be added to the quote in addition to the cash discount.
Incentivize Full Payment: This feature is designed to incentivize customers to pay the full price up front, reducing the administrative burden and dealer fees associated with financing.
