How to Connect and Use Finturf Financing in SetSale

Connect your Finturf merchant account, choose which Stacks your team offers, and use Finturf financing from quote build through funding.

Written by Hayden Lewis

Finturf gives homeowners access to financing offers from multiple lenders without pulling you out of your normal SetSale quote workflow. Once you connect your Finturf merchant account, SetSale automatically includes your Finturf Stacks in quotes, shows estimated monthly payments in homeowner presentations, and tracks the credit application through funding.

✋ Before You Begin

You'll need:

  • To be a SetSale team owner

  • An active Finturf merchant account (you can sign up here)

  • Your Finturf merchant API key

    • Contact your Finturf representative if you can't find it

  • A decision about which Finturf Stacks your team should offer

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open Finturf Settings

Go to Settings → Quoting → Financing. Under Financing Providers, find the Finturf Financing card and click Learn More.

2. Connect Your Finturf Account

  1. At the bottom of the page, paste your Finturf merchant API key into API key

  2. Click Connect Finturf

SetSale first validates your API key before encrypting and storing it securely.

💡Tip: If you don't have a Finturf account yet, click the "Don't have a Finturf account?" link to get started. Come back here once you're all set up with Finturf.

3. Choose Your Stacks

Once the connection succeeds, SetSale opens your Finturf Stacks settings. Turn on each Stack you want to include in SetSale quotes and leave the rest off. SetSale loads your Stacks from Finturf every time you open this page, so anything you change in Finturf shows up here automatically. The Stacks you enable are the ones SetSale can use in automated and manual financing rules.

💡Tip: A Finturf merchant account can hold Stacks for lines of business you don't sell via SetSale. Every Stack you enable is one SetSale will put in front of a homeowner, so keep the list tight.

4. Choose Automated or Manual Financing Rules

Click "Back to Financing". The Finturf card now reads Connected, and Configure takes you back to your Stacks any time.

💡Tip: If you already use Automated Financing Rules, you can skip this step. SetSale automatically picks the best eligible installment plan or Finturf Stack for each replacement tier, weighted so your highest-value tiers are most appealing.

Manual Financing Rules

When your company needs explicit financing rules, turn Automated Financing Rules off. You can mix manual installment plans and Finturf Stacks together in the same rule set. Rules are evaluated in order, the first matching rule wins, and the default rule applies when nothing earlier matches.

For the full walkthrough on building manual financing rules, see Setting custom financing rules for your installment plans.

5. Create or Update a Quote

Build your replacement quotes the way you always do. When SetSale prices the quote, we automatically include real-time financing estimates provided through your Finturf integration.

Open the Financing section on a quote option to review the selected plan. Finturf stacks appear in the Installment Plan list alongside your standard plans, with the stack name in parentheses. Choose a different stack or a standard installment plan to override the financing on that tier. If you change the selected Stack, price, equipment, services, add-ons, discounts, or anything else that moves the financed amount, let the quote save before you preview or share it.

💡Tip: Working on a quote created before you connected Finturf, or before a Stack setting changed? Open the quote, reselect the financing option you want, then click Recalculate in the Pricing section so SetSale requests a current estimate.

6. Preview and Share the Homeowner Presentation

Preview the pricing section before you send the quote. A tier with a valid Finturf estimate shows an estimated monthly payment and Powered by Finturf label. Tiers without Finturf pricing fall back to your other payment options. Share the presentation as usual. The homeowner compares tiers, selects a Finturf-financed option, reviews the purchase, and signs.

⚠️ Heads Up: Every payment shown before the homeowner applies is an estimate. Approval, final offers, terms, and availability all depend on the homeowner's application and the participating lenders.

7. Follow-Up with the Homeowner

After the homeowner accepts a Finturf-financed quote, SetSale emails the homeowner a secure credit application link. The homeowner must complete the credit application for financing to proceed. If the homeowner can't find the email, confirm their email address in SetSale, ask them to check spam or junk mail, or use the resend action on the quote.

🚫 SetSale never sees, collects, or stores any sensitive credit information the homeowner provides to Finturf.

8. Track the Application

Open the won quote and review Activity and Tasks. Depending on where the application stands, you'll see:

  • View application — opens the contractor's Finturf application

  • Complete required step — opens the information or document request Finturf sent

  • Financing approved. Proceed with installation — the application has reached Notice to Proceed

  • Request funds — opens Finturf's funds request flow after the work is complete

  • Funds request pending, confirmed, completed, released, or rejected updates

⚠️ Heads Up: Don't start the installation until the quote activity says financing is approved and Ready to Proceed. A won quote is not the same as an approved loan. If Finturf is waiting on the homeowner to confirm a completion certificate, call the homeowner and ask them to check their email and finish the step. It's the most common cause of funding delays.

Changing a Quote After the Application Was Created

If a won quote has to change, reopen it, update the same tier, and complete checkout again. SetSale inspects the Finturf application's current stage and takes the appropriate actions:

  • Before lender prequalification, SetSale will create a new Finturf application. The homeowner will complete a new credit application with Finturf.

  • When Finturf allows recalculation, SetSale updates the existing Finturf application amount. Finturf notifies the homeowner only if necessary.

  • After signing but before funding, SetSale will submit a change order to Finturf. In this case, the homeowner receives a notification with a link to approve the change.

  • If changing to a different Finturf Stack, SetSale will create a new Finturf application. The homeowner will complete a new credit application with Finturf and restart the financing process.

🤕 Warning: Homeowners must restart the financing process from the beginning if you switch Finturf Stacks. Changing to a different Finturf Stack should be avoided whenever possible, to avoid causing additional friction for the homeowner, and risking your sale.
