Can't find a customer, seeing an empty map, fighting a CSV that won't upload, or staring at two records for the same homeowner? This article walks through why each of these happens and how to fix it.
I can't find a customer
Search matches against every saved field, so the fix is usually a different search term or a stale filter.
Clear the current search and try again.
Search by another value you know — name, email, phone, or street address all work.
Switch to List view if you're on the map. The map only shows customers with mapped addresses.
Check the sort order — a recently added customer sorts to the bottom under Oldest first.
If the customer doesn't exist yet, click New customer, or use Import for a full list.
The map says "No customers in this area"
The map shows two things: the area you're currently looking at, and customers whose records have a complete, mappable service address. If either is off, the map looks empty.
Pan or zoom to where your customers actually are.
Use the search box to jump to a customer by name or address.
Open the customer in List view and check the record's address. Missing or incomplete addresses don't map.
Add or correct the address from the customer record.
Once the address maps, the customer appears as a marker. Click it to confirm the name and service address.
My customer CSV won't upload
The importer accepts CSV files only, and it reads your file by the template's column headings. Almost every failed upload comes down to file format or headings.
Go to Customers → Import.
Click Download template to get a fresh copy.
Keep the header row exactly as downloaded.
Give every customer row a name — it's the one required field.
If a row includes an address, complete the street, city, state, ZIP, and country.
Save or export the file as .csv (not .xlsx), then upload again.
I found duplicate customer records
Don't create a third record or delete one by hand — merging keeps the full history intact.
Open the record you want to keep.
Open the three-dot menu and click Merge customers.
Confirm the record under Keep this customer is the right one.
Search for and select the duplicates.
Click Merge customers.
Quotes, addresses, and custom fields from the duplicates move to the record you kept.
A quote has the wrong customer or service address
If you haven't finished creating the quote, fix it right in the Customer Information section — click Change customer or Switch address.
If the address you need isn't in the list, it isn't saved on the record yet. Go back to the customer record, add the address, and start the quote again.
Contact changes also appeared on linked quotes
This is expected. When a customer has linked quotes, the Edit customer dialog warns you that contact changes will appear on those quotes too — it keeps the record and the quotes in sync. Review the notice before saving changes to an existing customer.
A customer has "No integration links"
The record just doesn't have a link to a connected external system. It doesn't block anything — you can manage the customer, addresses, tags, and quotes normally.
