How to Use Upgrade Rules in SetSale

Upgrade rules let you automatically add upgrades to quotes based on conditions you define. Instead of relying on technicians to remember which upgrades to include every time, you can preconfigure them so the right upgrades appear on the right quotes automatically.

Where to Find Upgrade Rules

Go to the Upgrades section in your account settings. Each upgrade has a rule that controls when it gets added to quotes.

Rule Options

Never

The upgrade is never added to quotes automatically. Technicians can still add it manually when building a quote.

Always

The upgrade is automatically added to every quote, on every tier.

When

The upgrade is added only when specific conditions are met. You can set conditions based on:

  • Quote Tier — Add the upgrade only on a specific tier (e.g., Platinum). The upgrade will appear on that tier automatically.

  • System Type — SetSale checks the system type on each tier. If it matches the system type you've specified, the upgrade is added.

  • Price More Than / Less Than — The upgrade is added when the ticket price is above or below a dollar amount you set.

  • Model Family — SetSale checks the model family on each tier. If it matches, the upgrade is added automatically.

Adding Conditions

You can combine multiple conditions to get more specific about when an upgrade should appear. Within the "When" option, you can add individual conditions or condition groups to build out your logic.

Why This Matters

Preconfiguring upgrade rules saves time and reduces the chance that a technician forgets to include an upgrade. Set your rules once, and SetSale handles the rest on every quote going forward.
