Introduction
Sometimes equipment in SetSale may show up under a different brand than what you actually sell. This happens because SetSale references a global equipment database where each piece of equipment has a primary brand — and sometimes alternative brands. For example, a Carrier unit might initially load as Bryant (or vice versa), or a Trane unit might appear as American Standard. This happens because the manufacturers sometimes use the same model numbers across brands.
The good news: you can quickly rebrand equipment right from your settings. Here's how.
Why Equipment Brands May Be Incorrect
SetSale pulls equipment data from a master database that assigns a primary brand to each piece of equipment. When alternative brands exist (like Carrier/Bryant or Trane/American Standard), the equipment may initially load under a brand that doesn't match what your company sells.
This is normal and easy to fix.
How to Change an Equipment Brand
Go to Settings → Equipment.
Use the Brand filter to find the brand that needs to be changed. For example, if your equipment loaded as Bryant but should be Carrier, filter by "Bryant."
Select the model lines you want to rebrand by checking the box next to each one. You can select multiple model lines at once.
Once you've made your selections, a Set Brand dropdown will appear.
Choose the correct brand from the dropdown.
Your selected equipment will now reflect the updated brand.
💡 Tips
Use the brand filter first to quickly isolate all equipment under the incorrect brand — this saves you from scrolling through your full equipment list.
You can rebrand multiple model lines at the same time, so there's no need to update them one by one.
