Setsale Connect

What is SetSale Connect?

SetSale Connect is a portal designed for HVAC distributors to manage and integrate their inventory and pricing data directly with their contractors who use SetSale. This integration helps streamline the sales process and provides valuable insights into contractor sales and equipment demand.

Distributor Portal Walkthrough

1. Dashboard: The dashboard gives you a real-time view of how your connected contractors are performing.

Use the time filters at the top right (7D, 30D, 60D) to set the window for every metric on the page. You can search for any contractor by name, or click Ask SetSale Intelligence to get AI-generated insights about your contractor network.

Contractor Rankings

The top of the dashboard ranks your contractors across eight key metrics, so you can quickly see who's leading and where there's room to grow. Each card highlights your top performers for that metric:

  • Sales Volume: Total dollar value sold across your network.

  • Quotes Created: How many quotes your contractors have built.

  • Close Rate: The percentage of quotes that turn into sales.

  • Average Ticket Size: The typical (median) value of a quoted job.

  • Upgrades Per Quote: Average upgrade dollars added per quote.

  • Financing Attach Rate: The percentage of quotes that include a financing option.

  • Brand Loyalty: How consistently contractors quote your brands.

  • High Efficiency Mix: The share of quotes featuring high-efficiency equipment.

Top Matchups

See the equipment pairings your contractors quote and sell most often. Each matchup shows how many times the system was quoted, how many sold, and the total sales volume — along with its AHRI certificate number for quick reference.

Quote Locations

A heat map shows the geographic areas where your equipment is being quoted most often, helping you spot hot markets and untapped territory.

2. Contractors: As a distributor, you can invite your contractors to connect with you on SetSale.

  • Go to the Contractor page and click Add New Contractor.

  • Enter the contractor's email address and send an invitation.

  • Once a contractor accepts, they will have a regular SetSale Pro account, but you will be able to access their sales data and equipment information.

3. Equipment Management The Equipment page provides a high-level view of your inventory and pricing.

  • Inventory View: See how much equipment is in stock at your locations. The system uses color-coded badges to indicate stock levels (e.g., red for low stock, blue for sufficient stock).

  • Pricing View: See the price range for a piece of equipment across all your contractors. You can also view a detailed breakdown of the assigned price for each individual contractor.

  • Boosting Equipment:

    • Next to any item on the Equipment list, click the ellipses (...) icon.

    • Select Boost.

    • This action signals SetSale's AI to prefer this specific equipment when one of your connected contractors is creating a quote. This can help increase sales for that particular item.

    • To stop boosting an item, simply click the ellipses again and select Un-boost.

4. Settings The Settings Page allows users to adjust settings.

  • General: Adjust general setting for the distributor portal

  • Members: Adjust member access for your distributor portal

  • API Access: Most of the data management is handled through a one-time API integration. This allows for a continuous, up-to-date flow of information between your system and SetSale.

    • Go to API Access to generate an API key and view the documentation.

    • The API documentation allows a developer to set up the connection.

    • The primary API functions are Import Contractor Prices and Import Inventory Records.

How Contractors Benefit

When a contractor quotes a system that is part of a distributor's connected inventory, they will see an inventory badge on that equipment. This badge shows a breakdown of how many units are available at each distributor location, helping them confirm availability before closing a sale.
