What System Types Are Available in SetSale?
Understand the 12 system types available in SetSale and which equipment each one includes so you can create accurate quotes for your customers
What System Types Are Available in SetSale?
Every quote and system template in SetSale starts with a system type. The system type tells SetSale which pieces of equipment belong together, so the right matchups show up for each tier. Most system types are based on the AHRI database, which keeps your equipment combinations certified and accurate.
This article covers all 12 system types, what equipment each one includes, and when to use it.
Where You'll Choose a System Type
You'll select a system type from the System Type dropdown in two places:
- When building a quote — Choose the system type that matches the job.
- In your system templates — Go to Settings → Quoting → System Templates and set a system type for each tier. You can even mix system types within one template (for example, Dual Fuel on Platinum and Gold, Heat Pump on Silver and Federal Minimum).

Quoting a package unit or water heater? Use Single equipment — neither has its own system type.
12. Custom
Build your own equipment combination from scratch. Use this when the equipment doesn't have an AHRI number or doesn't fit any of the other system types. Pick individual components and combine them however you need.
To set one up, see How to Add a Custom System Template.
Good to Know
- Want to offer more than one equipment choice? Add the alternative at the quote level, or create separate system templates so your technicians can pick the right one in the field.
- Not seeing the equipment you expect? Check that the system type matches the job and that your price book includes model lines for every component that system type requires.
