What System Types Are Available in SetSale?

When you create a quote, SetSale uses system types to determine which pieces of equipment appear for your customers. Most system types are defined by the AHRI database, which drives much of the equipment data in SetSale.

There are currently 12 system types. Here's a breakdown of each one and what equipment it includes.

1. AC and Furnace (Split System)

A standard split system with air conditioning and a gas furnace.

Includes: Condenser, evaporator coil, and furnace.

2. Heat Pump

A heat pump paired with an indoor air handler.

Includes: Heat pump and air handler.

Note: You may want to add heat kits or other accessories. You can do this through the Additional Equipment section in your system templates.

3. Dual-Fuel

A heat pump system combined with a furnace for backup heating.

Includes: Heat pump, evaporator coil, and furnace.

4. Straight Air

An air conditioning system using an air handler instead of a furnace.

Includes: Condenser and air handler.

5. Condenser and Coil

A matched condenser and evaporator coil combination.

Includes: Condenser and evaporator coil.

6. Heat Pump and Coil

A matched heat pump and evaporator coil combination.

Includes: Heat pump and evaporator coil.

7. Ductless Heat Pump

A ductless heat pump system with one or more indoor units.

Includes: Ductless heat pump outdoor unit, plus your choice of indoor unit — wall mount, cassette, floor mounted, or concealed.

8. Ductless AC

A ductless air conditioning system with one or more indoor units.

Includes: Ductless condenser outdoor unit, plus your choice of indoor unit — wall mount, cassette, floor mounted, or concealed.

9. Multi-Zone Ductless Heat Pump

Same equipment options as Ductless Heat Pump, configured for multi-zone applications.

10. Multi-Zone Ductless AC

Same equipment options as Ductless AC, configured for multi-zone applications.

11. Single Equipment

Use this when you need to quote a single piece of equipment on its own. Options include:

  • Air handler

  • Condenser

  • Evaporator coil

  • Furnace

  • Heat pump

  • Package unit (standard, dual-fuel, gas, heat pump, or straight air)

  • Water heater

This is also the system type to use for package units and water heaters, since they don't have their own dedicated system type.

12. Custom

Build your own equipment combination from scratch. This is useful when you need to quote something that doesn't have an AHRI number or doesn't fit neatly into the other system types. You can pick individual components and combine them however you need.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • One of each equipment type per tier. On any given tier, you can only have one model line per equipment type. For example, you can't add two thermostats or two condensers to the same tier.

  • Need multiple options? If you want to offer different equipment choices, either add them at the quote level or create separate templates so your technicians can pick the right one.
