Yes! While SetSale's AI automatically selects equipment for each tier based on your System Templates and price book, you have full control to swap out any piece of equipment on a per-quote basis. You don't need to change your templates or settings — just make your adjustments directly on the quote.
How to Override Equipment on a Quote
After the AI generates your quote, navigate to the tier you want to modify (e.g., Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Federal Minimum).
Click on the specific piece of equipment you want to change — for example, the condenser or furnace.
SetSale will display a list of every available option for that equipment type from your price book.
Scroll through the list and select the equipment you'd like to use instead.
Repeat for any other equipment across any tier.
Don't Forget to Regenerate the Description
After swapping equipment, head to the Features section of that tier and click the Regenerate button. This updates the AI-written description so it accurately reflects the new equipment's specs and benefits — no manual rewriting needed.
Tips
Your overrides are quote-specific. Changing equipment on one quote won't affect your System Templates or any other quotes.
Pricing updates automatically. When you select new equipment, SetSale recalculates the tier price based on your markup or gross margin rules.
This works for all equipment types. Condensers, furnaces, air handlers, thermostats — anything listed in your price book can be swapped in.
If you don't see the equipment you're looking for, make sure it's been uploaded to your price book. You can check under Settings > Equipment or re-upload your price book.
When Should You Update Your Templates Instead?
If you find yourself making the same overrides on every quote, it's probably time to update your System Templates so the AI selects the right equipment from the start. Go to Settings > Quoting > System Templates to adjust which model lines are assigned to each tier.
